God knows how many cute little ceramic statues and beautiful vases has Martin Klimas blown up to pieces to make a perfect shot, but he sure made lots of kick ass photos! This German photographer has a strange art fetish to capture moments of shattering objects instantly when they explode, making still life look alive. What you see here are some of his latest works with flower vases.

Now what's the deal with this, you're probably asking yourselves; had he really destroyed hundreds of vases just to catch that perfect moment? Actually, no; Martin Klimas developed a shooting device that fires directly at the specific spot on the vase. The camera takes a single photo exactly at the moment the vase explodes. From something we all try to avoid, Klimas makes art, by capturing the milliseconds of explosions and preserving the moments trough the photographies.
If you live in Düsseldorf you can see the "Still Life" solo exhibition at Cosar HMT Gallery until March 14th, 2008. and from March 22th it will be opened at The Andy Warhol Museum, in Pittsburgh, so make sure you check it out.
